Assignment 3: Finished Drawing

This drawing was created with the 10 objects from the contour line drawings. The microwave, the lamp, the couch, the scissors, teapot, camera, drum stick, light bulb, my papas fishing rod, and spoon. I choose these objects because they are things I like to do or use daily. I love to play the drums, I love to drink tea, I use the microwave quite a bit. I recently got back into photography, I use scissors to make artworks, I like to relax and cuddle with my dog on the couch. The lamp and light bulb I use all the time for light. The fishing rod is a very personal object I chose for this drawing. I love fishing and the rod was my papas. I say "was" because my papa, unfortunately, passed away three years ago from cancer. My dad received the fishing rod when he helped my aunts and uncles clean out my papa's house. Assignment 3: Part 2: Contour Line Drawings

Image
This step was to choose 10 objects and to draw the outer contour lines. I incorporated a few drawings with the outer and interior contour lines. These drawings are essential because I am creating a cross contour with all these objects in the final step.

Assignment 3 Part 1: Blind Contour Practice

Image
For the blind contour drawing, I did a drawing every day for one week. To create these drawings I had to look at what I was drawing and draw that in my sketchbook, without looking on the paper. My drawings turned out to very interesting and abstract. I really like how these drawings turned out to be. For each drawing, I timed myself for about 2 to 3 minutes  Day 1: Drum set Day 2: PS4 controller Day 3: 2012 Ford Fusion Day 4: Bed Day 5: Desk in bedroom Day 6: Pen  Day 7: PS4 console

Assignment 2 Part 1: Artists who challenge my thoughts on drawing

Image
Claude Monet, Houses by the Sea, 1882      This is an impressionism drawing. Monet expresses his emotion in this drawing. He also seems to use the idea of imagination. There is are very rough and rushed visible lights on the brick of the buildings. Though rushed, the drawing is shown to be very organized and neat. The drawing has a very unique use of gradation with visible scribbles. I like how there is a use of light and dark in this drawing. The light looks as if the sun is shining on the buildings. This challenges what my thoughts on drawings, because this drawing looks to be a bunch of scribbles, which creates the detail and texture to the drawing. I am also fascinated how the scribble gradation, use of light and colour of the paper that seems to be very rough off white paper, which gives a sense of natural colour palette to the drawing.  Source Link: http://www.monetpaintings.org/houses-by-the-sea/   The Rock of Montmajour with Pine Trees, Vincen...
