I created 40 portraits of my grandparents and 25 drawings that connected the portraits. I referenced the portraits from photos. I only had a limited amount of photos, as I lost many in the 2013 flood. My grandparents mean the world to me and I wanted to incorporate more emotion into my work. Unfornutaly I have two grandparents alive and they have been having a difficult time, as my grandpa has many forms of cancer and my grandma is doing everything she can to help my grandpa. I wanted to create an artwork that cheered them up. while also showing how much I love them! Some of the photos of Nanny and Papa, my other grandparents, are from a calendar my aunt made in honour of them, as they both have passed away. I wanted to create artwork for my Nanny and Papa to honour, cherish, and also show my love for them!
